Manhattan is freely divided into downtown, midtown and uptown, with which the Fifth Avenue, Manhattan divides to its east side and the west side. The Manhattan island is surrounded by the Hudson river in the west and in the East. In the north, the Harlem river separates the Bronx and from the mainland of the United States. Many small islands are also part of Manhattan city, including Randals Island, Wards island and the East River Rouselt Island, and the Governor Islands and Liberty in the South of New York Port. Manhattan island has an area of 22.7 square miles (58.8 km), length 13.4 miles (21.6 km) and width 2.3 miles (3.7 km) and (14th Street has its width most. The total area of New York province is 33.77 sq mile (87.46 sq km), of which 22.96 sq mile (59.47 sq km) venue and 10.81 square miles (28.00 sq km) is water.
A neighborhood of Manhattan is cut off from the Bronx. Marble Hill now was a part of Manhattan island, but to improve the boat on the Harlem river, the Harlem river Canal dified in 1895 and separated it from the rest of the Bronx and Manhattan Island. The original canal of the Harlem river, which detached the Marble Hill before the First World War, was filled into a channel in the heart of the Marble Hill.
Marble Hill is one example of how the human interference of Manhattan has changed much. Since the Dutch colonial era there has been sufficient land on the banks of this city, which has been dubbed enough for all of natural diversity in the topography.
In the beginning of the nineteenth century, an exhibition was used for expanding Lower Manhattan from the Natural Hudson line in Greenwich Street to West Street. The excavations of a world trade center were exploited to 1.2 million cubic yard (917,000 m ³ or cubic meters) by digging up the site. Instead of throwing these vast materials into the sea, it was used to expand the Manhattan line on the West Street side to create the battery park city. As a result, the river has expanded 700 ft (210 meters), six parts or 1,484 feet (450 meters). As a result it was possible, 92 acres (370,000 m2) got 1.2 miles wide and 3-coastal plains More than 120,000 m 2) industries were provided for more than 120 acres.
From the point of view of geological science, one of the strongest characteristics of धः Manhattan are that the underlying base of the island is to close the surface of the Midtown district, the setting between 29th Street and the canal Street is large-shifted to the low ground below of the financial district; This is an underlying reason for their absence on the intermediary region between the gangkunnabi buildings in the fields of midtown financial district and these two sectors as their foundations can be safely shipped to the ground.
Manhattan has strengthened revanching of his trajectory from George Washington Bridge, Holland tunnel and Lincoln tunnel in the west with New Jersey in the north-east and in four towns in New York City in the North-East and Brooklyn in the East and the South and Buzyn islands. The only direct contact with the fifth city in New York City is the Staton Island Ferry which is free. The terminal of the Ghats is situated near the battery park on the south end of its. Using Verazno-Nairoz Bridge to travel in Brooklyn, straining access to Staton Island.
As per the 1811 contention, a scheme for the construction of 12-nered roads would be drawn up almost parallel to the coast of Hudson to the north and south, each with a width of 100 ft.(30 m) and first avelath avenues towards the east and west. On the eve of First Avenue - an intermittent with four additional letter routes ranging from Avenue which goes to Avenue of the region to Avenue D, which is now known as AlfaBest City (In East Manhattan). Manhattan-numbered roadside to the east-west and has 60 feet (18 mm) wide with the gap of about 200 feet (61 m) between all roads. With every joint road and block added up to 260 feet (79 mm), every mile has about 20 blocks at almost exactly every mile. Manhattan's particular block is about 250 to 600 feet. The fifteen crossown roads were named as fourteen feet (30 m) broad roads, including 34th, 42nd and 57th and 125th streets, which were some of the most important transport and shopping spots in the city. Broadway, one of the most characteristic of several festivals in the grid, stretching from the bonling green of Loer Manhattan to the north of the Bronx on the north of Manhattan. In most parts of midtown Manhattan, broaden a three-tier series of grid and the Union Square Square, Herald Square (SikWest and 34th Street), Times Square Square Square (SeventhNew and 42th Street) and Columbus Circle (Atwentieth Street) and C.E. Waste Park (Atwood, West Park and 59th Street) the chief has ruled the leading rock It is.
A result of this severely grid scheme in most of the Manhattan areas and a tarnishing of about 28.9 degrees of the grid is an event sometimes referred to as Manhattan (comparing with the Stonej). At the end of May and on different occasions, the sunset is led to a line with the grid lines of the road, as a result that the sun, either on or near the western horizon, is visible on the side of the road. One similar incident is due to the sunrise in January and December.
The Wildlife Protection Society, which governs zeal zoos and water bias in the city, is currently engaged in a system of Mannahatta project, which was expected to reproduce the ecology and recuperations of Manhassan in 1609 by the first sight of Henry Hudson and when we know about the island today, there was a computer simulation to compare it with a computer.

In 1842, Charles Dickens toured the field and was amazed at the worst of living conditions. The region was so notorious that it also pulled out the Abraham Lincoln which, in 1860, visited the region before its umper Union address. Landmark and Architecture
The skyscraper, which has given the particular size to Manhattan's horizon, is closely associated with the identity of New York City since the end of the 19th century. By 1890-1973, the world's highest building was in Manhattan, where the nine detached buildings had been undertaken. Park was the first building on New York World Building by 1955 to take the title, 309 feet (91 m) high when it was destroyed for the Brooklyn Bridge to build a new rump. * Sampark Paro Bhavan, obtained the title in 1899, which was 29 stories and was 391 feet (119 m.). A 41-storeyed Singer Building which was built as the headquarters of the distinguished man-belonging sewing machine-manufacturer in 1908; by 1967, 612 feet (187 meters) high when the sundershot is the tallest skull building now. The Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower, which was a 700 ft (213 m) high structure on the basis of Madison Avenue, got a title in 1909 which was a tower lending the St. Marx Comindigo of Venice. He was engaged in the voleworth building and its special Gothic architecture, in 1913, which was 792 feet high.
Röring itself had a race in the sky, in which three distinct buildings were trailing behind the world's greatest building being headlong within a year. About two out of these books before the Wall Street crash in 1929, two developing houses just out of their shelves in a stock market. This is a very common competition. For an astonishing period of 11 months, during the peak of the 11-month headquarters of Bank of Manhattan, a 40-ft Wall Street (282 m) built over 927 ft. In Lexington Avenue and 42nd close Street, auto acting Walter Chrisler and his architect William Van Ellen founded 1,046 Feet (319 meters) to the Chrysler building when it was completed in 1929 and immersed it to be the highest building in the world 185-ft (56 m). It was eclipsed for the high peak. The two buildings were soon found persuaded by an Empire State Building on the top of a 1,250 ft (381 m) high-covered art deco with a top 102-storeyed top at the end of the building. Later on around 203 ft. (62 meters) high height in this edifice became 1,453 feet (443 m).
The former Twin Towers, which once symbolized an eminent symbol of the city, was located in Lower Manhattan. 1,368 and 1,362 ft (417 m and 415 m) high 110-storeyed buildings continued 1972, till the world's highest buildings were formerly known as the World Tower in 1974 (first known as the Silver Tower in Chicago) built it). Yes, sir. By the end of the 20th century, Twin Towers from the World Trade Center, September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the world were among the most famous and most respected buildings. Among several buildings the World Trade Center was a gift which included the French Times, Philip Pettit, a cables which had only been preserved with a cable balance and was hanged between the Twin Towers on 7th August, 1974. Instead of the Twin Towers in the World Trade Center, One World Trade Center is yet going on and expected to be ready by it in 2014.
